Having an old classic as my first ride realy gave me an apreciation for the style and quirks of owning such a car , having the column shifter "pop out" of gear at 65MPH was just a part of life ! My first ride is long gone now but you never do get over not having an old car & due to my career as a carpenter & driving a work ute every day i've found myself leaning more towards pickups & deliveries as inspiration for my first "real" hot rod.
