I got started when I was 14 years of age. I worked with my Dad as his helper being a carpenters helper. Dad said son I will give you work to buy your first car but I won't by it for you. So I work helping dad tear down old house and repair others to buy my first vehicle. It was 1953 Chevrolet 5 window truck I bought from a eldery black man that painted it with a paint brush. What a wonderful man he was. He sold it to me for $100.00. I work after sdhool that whole year sanding the red enamble paint off of the truck. (what a job) I primered it in red oxide primer from a spray can it looked good to me. mean while I would work with dad and buy old vehicle and resale them for a profit. The race was on for me.
