53 Chevy 3 window step side, original 1st project now 2nd.

Father was a diesel mech, he used to take me to the shop on his OT Saturdays let me play truck driver in the trucks in the shop. You know every little kids dream back then. I would climb into the cabs of the trucks make sounds like I was driving, move the shift levers yea there was 2 back then. Built models all through the 60's and yes I still have them all. There all in model boxes carefully placed now. My best friends brother had a Hot Rodded 56 Belair that was really Bitchin, words from the era. 327, tunnel ram, 4spd, tilt hood, it was his street racer/cruiser.
My first vehicle was a 49 Chevy 5 window step side, loved that truck, wish I still had it, (I know we all wish that). My Second was a 65 El Camino, Had it until I got engaged, sold it and got something more reliable, 4 months later we split, and I sold my hot rod for a cheater. Never again. Over the next few years I fixed up my reliable 78 GMC, had a 88 Dodge D-50 for not very long, nothing in the load pedal and too quite. Next came a 91 GMC 1/2 ton fleetside, fixed up and had this one the longest until I got tagged in the back in 06. In 05 I got my current project the 58, price was right and the truck was in good shape. A hot rodded 355, 4spd. It had some wiring issues I corrected, changed the wheels, installed a dropped axle and shackles in the back. It's a fun driver, but I have lots of plans for the future. The before said 91 GMC I bought back from the Insurance Co. after they totaled it, all running gear will go into the 58 for a reliable cruiser/Highway runner. That's about it for now.
