Started turning wrenches at about 8 yrs. old (Schwinn stingray). Dad hung out at his buddies Texaco gas station a lot, wrenching on his own cars. I was always with him. At 16, I bought a 70 1/2 rs camaro with a bad motor, towed it home and dropped in a 350 4 bolt out of my dads old truck. By the early 80s I was working on motorcycles with an old school chopper builder (Harleys and British mostly). 1985 my dad and I purchased my gr uncles old gas station, where I got into gunsmithing and auto repair. My brother and I built a 79 merc Capri with a 355 Chevy for less than 1800 bucks that ran 12s. He drove it to college on the other side of state and was getting 20 mpg. I still own the old station and plan on restoring it to a 60s SINCLAIR.
