About
My Dad woke me up about 5 am one morning in Feb, 1959 and said "Come on, we're going on a trip". Little did I know he was taking me to the 2nd Daytona 500. We drove across the state from Tampa (no interstates yet). To say I was hooked on hot rods from that day on would be an understatement. About 12 years ago I restrored a '65 GTO convertible. Not really a hot rod but more of stock type resto with some kicks to the motor, sound sysytem, etc. Now that I've been retired for about a year I decided to get another project but one I could truly call a hot rod. My '38 Ford 2 door, 5 window has filled that bill. All steel, 350 small block, 350 turbo, Chevy II front end. Car literally had a rope tying the hood down when I got it. It has come a long way in about 5-6 months. It's only been a part time visitor at my house between projects but my wife and I have really enjoyed a few rides and look forward to lots of short trips, events. Should be finished (do they ever really??) in about 2 weeks, late Feb 2014. Just in time to take it to a Daytona 500 party at my friend's house!! My other activities are taken up with fishing, golf, tennis, friends, exercise.Interact
