- '31 model A coupe, '37 chevy coupe

Been a motorhead since I was about 14. Buying AMT models, reading the "little books", and drawing hot rods and custom cars, instead of paying attention in my Catholic school was pretty common. When I wasn't thinking about girls and playing basketball, I was dreaming about my first car.
My dream car back then was a '56 Lincoln, but I settled for a gunmetal gray '50 Ford. It was nosed and decked, lowered about 4" in the back, with custom grill, dual glasspaks and spotlights, rear antenna, fender skirts, white dash and interior, Olds Fiestas, and a flathead that endured more punishment than any engine should be expected to take.
Next up was a gorgeous, black '50 Olds coupe with the sweetest sounding duals. It RAN and sounded bad, so at that point, I was done with flatheads. OHV's, with more cubic inches, served us well until the Chevy boys came along.
I was among the diehard Olds/Caddy guys for a lot of years, but finally gave into the high-revvin' Chevys, and never looked back. They were still from GM.
While raisin' four kids, and working for forty-three years, I still could never look at any car without thinking about how I could modify it to make it better.
I even went through the restored stock stage with my '37 Chevy coupe, but after the longest time struggling to force myself to keep it that way, I got so freakin' bored, that I needed something to work on, and do it my way. Now I'm retired, and finally have the kool little Model A coupe I often dreamed about, and the time to work on it. It's not done yet, and probably never will be, but it's mine and it's getting built the way I want to do it. My way.Interact
