    Started helping my dad work on cars when I was about 6 or 7. Built my first engine by myself in summer 1960.
    Graduated with a BS in math from UNC-C in 1972, tried teaching high school (too much politics!!!) and engineering (too much politics, sitting at a desk) so I did what I liked-cars, cars, cars.
