    Got into racing at 7 yrs. hanging my uncle's (Mr. H.E. "Bud" Freeman) garage who built several flathead Ford '37 Ford coupes and one 312 mercury factory race engine. Excellent mechanic who quit too soon. Raced at legendary Bowman Gray Stadium, Winston-Salem,NC as well as area dirt tracks.
