Started a 15 years old when Tasca Ford had Bill Lawton running the Fairlane 500 "Thunderbolt". Got hooked up with one of Tascas former mechanics - Jimmy King - who had purcahsed a twin engine show dragster from the Gamino brothers on the West Coast. Jimmy converted it to a single engine and ran the old Southern New England Timing Association circuit. Often running a single pass on the "rear two" as he was locally known as "Wheelstand King".
I then built a mess of "Flatties", most of which I managed to break.
Then off to the Merchant Marine Academy and sailing the ocean blue which limited my play time for a few years until I got a new 69 Firebird 400 which I turned into my first real street beast.
Been bustin knuckles ever since.Interact
