My dad had a sprint car and a couple midgets before ww2, and antique cars after the war (my ara). He has been the best mentor in the world, imprinting me with technical knowledge and a love for all things mechanical and beyond, including a thirst for knowledge and skill. I have been restoring, modifying and fabricating full-time since 1972. During these years, I have consistently "plowed back in" an average of 12 hours per week reading new technical material, re-reading old material, practicing a new technique, re-practicing an old technique, or making new tooling or tools. I have an inadequate background in automotive engineering, and a somewhat neglected family. I have survived my motorcycle years and almost survived my racing years. Many of my semi-waking hours are spent engineering and problem-solving. Although metal working is an obsession with me, it does'nt always come easy or as planned.I am still building hot rods, custom automobile and air craft parts, and restoring full-time, tho for the last couple years I have also been designing and building vintage boat-tail racers. Custom metal work and racers of the 20's thru the mid-50's excite me the most.Interact
