I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as a new member of the forum. Have been in the Okanagan since the early 80’s and was a member of the Cam Jammers Car Club of Vernon/Armstrong area for 18 years until I moved to Kelowna. Upon moving to Kelowna I joined the Kelowna Kustoms.

My Hot Rod days started back in Ontario in 1972 at the age of 16 when I began to Hot Rod a 50 Chev pkup. This project was sold in the fall of 73 when I purchased a running 58 Impala off a used lot in Winterpig for $50.00. I had the Impala for only 5 or 6 months when a persistent fellow purchased it off me for the hugely inflated value of $150.00, I needed the money for the 36 Ford 5 window project started in the spring of 74, when I joined the International Early Iron Car Club in Fort Frances Ont.

After a motorcycle trip to the Okanagan in the summer of 1980, my wife and I were bitten by the bug to go west. The coupe was sold and we headed for BC, ending up in Vernon. After being there for a whole five days I was introduced to the then President of the Cam Jammers, attended a meeting and joined the club.

My current ride a 49 Chev 2dr Sedan Mild Custom came to me in stock running form the spring of 1983. After running her that way for a year the following winter saw installation of a camaro clip, V8, new rear-end and various other mods done in a buddy’s garage. As a Rod is never totally done various other mods have taken place over the years to bring her to the current configuration. My family and the car have been a familiar site at many runs throughout the years in BC, Northern Washington and occasionally farther afield. My son, Kevan, now 19 has traveled to many of these runs with me since he was 3 months old and we are now starting the next generation and building him a 1957 Olds 98 2dr HT.

I have now started on a 29A 2dr, wacked the roof off and making a tub.

We all hope to continue in this great hobby with all the good friends we have met over the years and continue meeting many new ones.

If ya see us on the asphalt in the spring be sure to honk, holler or wave and say hi.

    Keep Krusin
