Good find. A couple times a season I do what I call, nut and bolt the hot rod. Check everything I can get to and make sure it is still tight....
I have always used the tools you are using and just keep working at it. I like Eastwood rust Encapsuler. Por 15 also good.

I have had a 283, and 327, liked them both. I am a SBC guy. Over the years the coupe has had a 327, 355. and now a bored, stroked, and blown 400.

I think the Mobil 1 is also a fine filter. With that said, I am out on this filter war thread. Its DEAD.

Some here may dis- agree but, I use K&N filters. A little pricy but a damn well made filter in my opinion. I have also used Napa Gold for many years.
