She's working pretty good now, I don't see any reason to replace it. its bottom mounted in a T bucket so you know she's gonna get a little wet...
My mistake, what I hooked up to was actually the voltage regulator tabs, marked R and F, reference and Field but they're actually bridged together...
Alright I think I got it figured out, I opened the alternator up and found a broken wire that goes from the voltage regulator to the bridge...
Alright so I have this GM one wire alt, I wanna say its about five years old. Every once in awhile I would have to re-excite the field winding...
If you haven''t gotten it taken care of yet I can almost guarantee you this stuff here will let you wipe it right off and not damage any painted...
Just reading this thread made me paranoid enough to go check to make sure I unscrewed my battery disconnect.
This is what me and dad came up with and it works surprisingly well, no need for earplugs anymore and I can still make it even quieter if I wanted...
Here's a little update, I took most of the easy to do advice and I am much happier with how the car looks, and I don't even care what the steering...

Well... I changed my brand new water pump last night that I put a crack in by over-tightening the side plug with another brand new pump, then went...

Well I'm not a complete fool, I have worn a earplug at least in my left ear the few times ive been out. Ill let ya know how these silencers work...
Any thoughts on this kind? possibly with holes drilled in the pipe and surrounded with fiberglass. [ATTACH] I was thinking with the auger style...
