Been fascinated by cars from a young age. Took the typical route from mathbox cars to RC cars, train sets, skateboards, bikes, then lawnmowers, tractors, and got my first car at 15.
Took everything apart - and usually got it back together in good working order. My HS autoshop teacher Ken Ecternach is the best teacher on the planet - 2 short years from not knowing anything to passing the ASE basic exam as our final senior year. From there I went off to college at WMU Kalamazoo and reluctantly switched from auto tech to ME after talking with a Ford employee about what I wanted to do (test engines) took 7 math classes, but eventually I got through. Spent 1 year at Torque engineering building off shore boat engines in Elkhart IN, then 5 years at Honda R&D in Marysville, OH, and I've been in the certification and fuel economy department at Ford since '00. I finally got a work shop in '02 and have too many projects - I feel as if I'll never have anything done, I'll just have an endless string of unfinished projects - get's frustrating sometimes - I'm my own worst enemy sometimes too - taking on house projects and car projects at the same time - oh well. Stuff gets done eventually. Denise told me to come on over - so here I am.Interact
