Model A John

I'm a 54 year old hotrodder and drag racer. I have always built my cars as opposed to buying them. I first bought a Hot Rod magazine at the age of 11. I talked my dad into taking me to the nearest dragstrip at the age of 15. We lived in rural Minnesota, and Minnesota Dragways was 160 miles away! Been hooked ever since. My 31 coupe is done to the point of being road-worthy now, so the race car is set aside while I put miles on the hot rod! For the past 3 months, I've been rebuilding my Chevy II into an altered wheelbase gasser style drag car. Should be done by May, 2010.
here's an update. I've been racing my Chevy II for 2 seasons now. HAMB Drags, Tulsa Nitro Nat'ls, Ardmore Hot Rod Reunion, etc. Best e.t. of 10.09. I put a Hilborn injecter on the small block last year. Throttle response is unreal. A real blast to drive. Still have the Model A coupe. I've put 5600 miles on it so far. I drive it to the KKOA show in Salina every July. Fun car.
