I live in Southeast TN. I fell in love with the hobby reading all of the rags. I had no way to learn much about this stuff as a kid and was too broke (and a puss) to buy something and start cutting. So... I got a loan and paid Wyotech 24K to make me shave every day (Collision/ Refinishing, Custom Bodywork/ Chassis Fabrication) I learned some stuff (ok, maybe a lot). But, not nearly as much as i did doing grunt work for some of the old timers in my area. I now work at SuperRodzs, a rod shop that is a subsidiary of Electrical Mechanical Technologies, an excelent Custom Automation/ Machine shop (a real chance to learn something). Plus, I'm starting Machine Tool classes at Chatt. State in Sept! Billet may be the Devil, but great looking well made parts are not! All told i've been watching the scene for 20 years and actually working on old stuff for about 12. I've never actually built my own car, so i am stoked about the sedan. It's an opportunity to practice, learn, and get some of the ideas out of my head and on the road. The CJ-5 was my Great-Grandfathers hunting truck. My family wants it restored, so I'm gonna do a resto-rod so-to-speak. It will be a driver for kayaking and camping. I look forward to getting to know more people in the trade and learning from all the really sharp people involved w/ the HAMB. Maybe i can be helpful too!Interact
