I have a fetish or a passion about selling quality products, products that more than pay for themselves over time. The best example of this is the Milwaukee Model 40 Service Jack. It is a short chassis jack that is extremely well built compared to other models and brands that try and compete. The evidence is there. The Milwaukee rarely needs serviced and rebuilt. Most common need over time is a caster needs replaced after 5-10 years of use. The design has not changed since the late 40s.

My first boss, on a dairy farm where I started working at age 12 often said, that is the high cost of cheap equipment, when something would fall apart. He believed in the concept of getting what you pay for.

In the automotive parts world, there is the question of purchasing OE or Aftermarket. I’m dead set sold on OE and most items that are US made, with some exceptions.

My Father-in-Law, who I spend a lot of time with, has rebuilt a few cars with his buddies, 59 Corvette, Model A and currently working on a 57 Chev.
