Been into cars for 50 years. My dad and uncle lit the fire in me. When I was 12 ,1n 1958, my dad and I were on our way to Des Moines Iowa ,form Sioux City,to see the Rod & Custom Dream Truck. That was the show the truck never made it to as it was totaled in a towing accident. The '58 pickup that Spence Murray was towing the Dream Truck with was there. Highly damaged. Also on hand at the show was the pink '50 GMC that the Ayalla Brothers had built and later sold to Bruce Geisler. It was traded to a Chevy dealer in LeMars Iowa on a new car. He had it displayed along with a brand new customized '59 ElCamino .I had followed the Dream Truck since it's inception in '54. Really a sad day. Many thanks to all the guys that never forgot about it and restored it back to it's show condition. That is what made me want to build a clone of the truck. I have restored Corvettes and built street rods for the past 45 years. Hope to continue for at least another 20. Married, 38 years, son, daughter in law, and 2 grandsons. Hopefully can pass some of the old school ways on to one of them. Final note on the Bruce Geisler pink '50. After the car show in '58 ,probably '59 or '60, the Geisler-Ayalla pickup was on a used car lot in South Sioux City Nebraska for sale for $250. There were definitely a lot of wild rides in that area of the country back then.Interact
