I started building rods in 1959 with a 32Ford fordoor whiuch at the time had a 48 Merc flathead, I changed it out for a 303 olds with cad lasalle tranny olds rear end, dropped front axle and rack and pinion steering from an MGA. Moved to Calgary where I had an accident when a young bunch of kids pulled out of a stop street right in front of me on Centre St. I T-boned them and bent the frame and destroyed the grille and left front fender. I was fortunate to get another car in Northern Alberta also a fordoor deuce. I used the frame and had it sandblasted and then boxed it changing the rear cross member to lower the rear. At this time I upgraded it to a deluxe sedan with side mounted spares and Caddy Eldorado Wire wheels. Raced it in A-Gas with an engine from our fuel dragster 455 Olds. In 67or8 too long ago to remember exactly.
Drove it back to Ontario with my fiancee. Eventually sold it and bought a 64-1/2 Mustang coupe I built many sets of headers for the local rodders Painted a few cars (Coupes, Roadsters and Pickups mostly A's and B's) Subsequently built A pickup with Merc Flathead, 33 Ford Tudor with small block Chev, Deuce 3 window with 303 Olds Owned several stock Model A.s 34 Ford Coupe, 35 Ford Coach 36 Ford coach, 37 Ford Coupe, 39 Tudor all were stock. Never paid more than $300.00 for any of them.
