I grew up in southern California in the early 1960's. The first car I remember noticing was a 1953 Chevy Convertible that my Uncle owned. I think I was about 8 yrs old. We lived in Colton, CA at the time but don't recall ever going to the drags. I built model cars and when I was old enough I got my first car a 1953 Plymouth Cranbrook. Later I had a 1960 Dodge Dart Phoenix Convertible, a 1961 Chevy Biscayne all before I was 16. I got them for nothing or almost nothing and sold them for enough to get something better and I just kept on doing that. I'm 58 now and show no signs of stopping any time soon.
