Yes, I see the '49 and '50 303s listed as: (W/7/32" oil hole) it's been far too long since I put one of those years together so I can't help much...

the '53ish Chevy spindles were fairly common on the aftermarket axles may still be. I liked them for their no honing required bushings
good on you to raise them right. 'have done similar with my daughter, she's 41 now and has the mindset and skills to tackle most anything on her...
