About
I have lived on the South Coast all my life, being born in Southampton, then moving with the parents to the New Forest.
I first got interested in hot rods by picking up mags such as 'Street Machine' and 'Custom Car' in the mid '90s, and then taking trips to the nearest drag strip, Santa Pod. I was hooked! The smell, noise and atmosphere of all those nitro-spitting V8s and cool old hot rods got me buzzing every time.
I've always hated the commercial, fairground crap that goes with drag racing nowadays, but I guess that's just part of it all now, and I try to stick to hot rod only or Mopar only events to avoid 'Joe Public'.
I've not had the chance yet to own my own rod, as I live with my parents still ( have you seen the house prices round here?, start at £250K and keep going) and they aren't into rods at all. Space is a real problem as we are full with our 3 daily drivers, but I'm trying to persuade them to buy a house with some land. I'd be happy to sleep on a bed in the garage if I had room for a rod!!Interact
