Saw my first drag race at Person County Dragstrip in 1965 before they had a Christmas tree and still used a flagman; and attended the final NASCAR Grand National race on dirt at the Raleigh Fairgrounds in 1970. Granddaddy drove a Hudson Hornet and a DeSoto, Pop drove a '64 Fairlane coupe. My first car was a VW bug, then moved on to a '56 F100. Also messed with a Porsche 914 and 912, and a wooden boat.Interact
