I wanted one of thes '63 Impala's from the first time I saw it at a Chevy show when it was introduced in the Fall of '62. There was a Gold one there parked at our local shopping center. In the last day of 1997 I bought one that had set in a field for 7 years and needed everything. Over the next 3 1/2 years I spent lots of money and time getting the car on the road and refinishing everything. I've now had it on the road for 6 1/2 years and have made some nice improvements, such as, a 700R4 transmission, a 605 steering box, Vintage Air A/C, a nice stereo with sub, a complete gauge set installed in the dash in place of the clock and idiot lights, and large front and rear stablilizer bars. Drives like a dream.
