I've been riding, driving and building hot rods and bikes since 1964. I was living in East L.A. in '64 and a friends older brother took us for a ride in his metallic brown, chopped '50 Merc with fresh white tuck and roll upholstery that had just been completed down in T.J.. Funny, there were numerous odd piles of sand forming all in a row on the floor below the rear seat. Apparently the guys in T.J. had stuffed the pleats of the tuck and roll with sand. No matter - I was hooked. Since then it's been one car after another. The current one is a '27 T Coupe I'm building with a good friend.
