Red White and Bluick

When I came into the world I was blessed with 2 cars to ride in. Mom had a 55 crown vic (white and rose). Dad had a black 50 ford coupe (nosed, fender skirts,low in the rear,Desto hemi powered.) the 50 got sold around 63 and was replaced by a 60 caddy drop top. My dad would take me to the rod and custom shows in D.C. So my Buick link started in 63 when dad got a body job at a Buick dealer (Jack Daniels Buick silver spring Md. later Covington Buick) and he retired in 2000 from the same dealership. Mom had a job too, Capitol airlines (job program in high school) then Untied airlines from which she retired in 2001.(46 years no jobs like that anymore.) (I'm an original latch key kid.) My moms side of the family liked factory Ford hot rods police interceptors etc.My grandfather bought a 64 galaxy 500xl 4spd fastback bench seat. wish i had that one. moms side of the family had a heavy foot and weren't afraid to use it. So my other performance interest is airplanes. (can't afford them) but attend air shows. I did get a ride in a p 40 war hawk and a buddy was in a f4 corsair. the pilots were brothers and chased each other around. MAN WHAT A RIDE ! I've been to cali many times, and the march meet many times, also Pomona drag strip, and El mirage. Bonneville one day. Helped a friend run late model stock car for several years. We raced at Old dominion race track in Manassas Va.Which is one of the tracks that formed nascar. Then converted it to run on road courses it turned out to be a short lived series,but our group were the first stock cars to run under the lights at Charlotte motor speedway other than nascar. Yes it has a road course in the infield. You run the whole track except turn 1. So I'm a car guy!
