About
I raced 30 yrs ago then quit. I was in Austin Texas to go pick up a new shotgun and go skeet shooting when I stepped out of my hotel and the lot was fiiled with Hot Rods.It was the 2nd annual Roundup. I was hooked. Came home and bought my first car, a 50 Ford. Then Bought a 66 F250. Sold both, they are still on the road. Found my 49 in a warehouse along with many other cars but the owner wouldn't sell. He was going to restore it. He was about 100 at the time. About a year later the warehouse was hit and destroyed by a hurricane. The 49 survived unscratched, althought it was a basket case to start with. A mutual fried approached me and hooked me up. I hauled it home a week later. That was 3 yrs ago. I just got the car on the road. i owe a huge debt of thanks to Charlie Butterfield, who thanks to his mad fabricating skills and common sense made my car possible.Made many great friends in the cult.Interact
