    Chopper in the making
Been into cars since I was a kid, all kinds, not hot rods in particular...mainly classic and sports cars. Bikes too, but always hated sports bikes, only ever into proper choppers/bobbers. Then as I got older (now at the ripe old age of 26) I started to lose interest in the sports car thing...

I wanted more, I mean I love my car, I love thrashing it through the back roads and I like the fact that I maintain it myself, but that doesn't satisfy the creative side of me. I want to build, to take something unique in my mind and hammer it out in reality. I'm fed up of sports car meets where there are a couple of dozen identical cars lined up with a bunch of chequebook mechanics standing round discussing which colour they chose or what they ordered from the options list.

I want to drive a car knowing that every nut and bolt holding the thing together and making it move is there because I've put it there.

That said, I'm new to the hot rod scene and don't currently have a hot rod. I'm planning to start a build next spring and am now tyring to work out exactly what I want to do. Being British doesn't help...there is no real local scene, project cars and parts are very scarce and there is no one really to learn from...thank god for the H.A.M.B. eh? Add to that the fact I don't have a garage, the whole thing will have to be done in my small yard under the British weather!

I don't plan on posting a lot since I don't have a lot to offer, being such a newbie. I'm mainly here to watch, listen and learn. Though once I'm into the build I'll no doubt be posting progress updates and no doubt there will be some tech questions :)
