I have been a car nut since I was 13. Couldn't wait to get my drivers license which in Washington came at age 16. My first car was a 1947 Plymouth four door (too many door!) but it was mine, I paid $125 cash money for it and quickly proceeded to pour every nickle and dime I could make into it! '64 engine, leaded nose, deck, naugahide upholstery, flames, lowered, split manafold, smittys, etc, etc. Sold it in about one year and got my Uncle's '53 Dodge Cornet (yep, too many doors!). But it did have a '56 D-500 Hemi in it and was sooo much faster than my ole six cylinder Plymouth! The Dodge got the same treatment that the Plymouth did. The next car was a nifty '55 Ford Sunliner whic was my first cool car! Tons of fun, lots of aftermarket items, paint, upholstery, leading, lowering, tri-power, tube grille, tear-drop moons (remember those?), etc, etc. Then I got lost and got into corvettes and other sports cars. In 1996 or so I started going to NSRA and Goodguys car shows. That did the trick! Now into hot rods and customs big time! Currently enjoying a big-ass, Texas sized, Hot Rod Garage.
