I first started getting into hot rods when my dad had a a guy bring out a 1928 model A Coupe and a 52 pontiac.He wanted the straight 8 automatic in the Ford.I was about 12 then.
The frame got stretched, the hood and fenders got lengthened and the pontiac dash was narrowed and installed.
I was amazed at my dad's common sense approach to engineering and fabrication skills.considering his 8th grade education and no formal training.I wished I had paid more attention to learning his ability to work with metal.
After 50 years of still learning new things that I could have learned back then.
I still try and use his common sense approach to my cars.Make them fast,fun,safe and easy to work on.
