Grew up in Manhattan Bch (CA) during the 40's and 50's. Took Auto shop in HS and learned to rebuild engines, which I did occasionally. Had a 48 Ford Coupe with a fairly hot 49A engine in it. Then a 54 Austin Healey with an Isky cam and some head work. Used to race at Lions every chance I got. During these years everything revolved around cars and engines...and girls.
