I am fifty years old. I became interested and began participating in traditonal rodding in the 1970s when I was mentored by two older machinists, who has been into hot rodding since the late 1940s. We operated out of a small airport/wrecking yard in east Texas, where if we were not working on cars or various inventions, we were maintaining aircraft. I bacame interested in vintage airplanes at this time as well, and pursued a career as a commercial pilot, flying cargo in Douglas DC-3s. After several different career changes, I am now at fifty finally making my living in the hot rod industry, and loving it.
