- Currently I have a '64 Caddy Coupe DeVille a '62 Olds Dynamic 88 2-dr hardtop. I've owned a '27 T-Roadster pickup, '53 Olds 88, '59 Olds Dynamic 88, '59 Olds 98, '63 Olds Dynamic 88, '65 Cutlass, '67 Cutlass, '68 Toronado '69 Cutlass Convertible, '71
I've always enjoyed old cars, and grew up in a "gearhead" family. I drag raced alot when I was younger before Bandimere Speedway got overrun with Honda's on Nitrous with bumble bee exhaust tips and Kamikaze graffitti all over them.
I've always liked traditional late '50's through mid '60's 1/4 mile cars and kustoms. I like Rat Rods as well, as long as they are put together decent. But some of these Rat Rods that are nothing more than chunks of rust bolted on a rusty set of mattress springs with a Rambler 6 strapped to 3 flat bicycle tires, shot 43 times with an M-16, set on fire, buried in the mud, hit with a hammer and pinstriped by a fat chick with a toothbrush aren't really my scene. But, to each his own.
I've ran Oldsmobile's almost exclusively, and I think nothing on earth sounds as good as a 394 with a Carter AFB and a sticky lifter.
I just bought a '62 Olds Dynamic 88 2-dr that I am going to build a period correct early '60's 1/4 mile car out of. Plans include a Carter AFB, dual pipes with cut-outs, white paint, chrome reverse rims and redline tires, a better rear end, finned aluminum valve covers and a dual point distributor...and anything else that I decide I like while I'm building it.Interact
