Between 1961 and 1965 I did a complete bare metal restoration of a 1941 Ford Convertible which I owned for 15 years. The exterior was stock with all NOS sheetmetal which was still available at the time and ultimately I installled a 340 hp 327 Corvette engine with a three speed Corvette close ratio transmission. This was coupled to a 1951 Mercury Spicer rear end with leaf springs. I have also owned a 1934 three window Ford coupe, a 1935 five window, a 1936 four door, a 1940 Ford coupe and a 1937 Lincoln four door sedan.
In that period original cars were readily available in Los Angeles.
Now that I have the time, I want to build another car.Interact
