I turned the coupe over to Sean at the opening of South Austin Speed Shop on 10/15 and told him to surprise me... this is what I got in return. Pics don't do it justice... it's awesome, and it's clear that I have much more work to do on the car to make it worthy of this interior. The centers are an ivory pearl super-slick vinyl that I'd never seen before, and it's way s****y. He also widened the minivan seat frame, raised/peaked the seat back, built a package tray. etc...

SEAN - If I didn't experess myself clearly enough Saturday, I totally dig it... thanks again!

Without a doubt, one of the nicest I've ever seen. I'd really be interested to know about how much something of that quality costs. It is just really pleasing to look at.

Without a doubt, the work of Mr. Johnstun has always been a favorite of ours. Way too humble for a big -gun talent....

Outstanding work, Really looks good. The pinstripe s***ching is a nice addition... Wish I could find someone to do work like that down here. All we have is a few no-talent OEM replacement style shops

  20. Ivory pearl vinyl is very cool. I dig seeing something new, but still in the traditional flavor. Combined wiht the stiching, it makes for a great combo. Nice work.

From the responses thus far, folks seem to feel that, 1.) FAT LUCKY gots mad skills, and 2.) I'm a lucky son-of-a-*****. Absolutely right on both counts.

Thanks everyone for the feedback! :D

I had the pleasure of seeing this Saturday and getting to hang out with Blake for a while. Extremely nice interior for an extremely nice car. Blake ain't a half bad sorta guy, either!:)

Denise you know you guys have a standing offer of a place to stay and a truck to drive if you ever come visit. You could drive Big Olds down, leave it with Sean, stay with us for a week or so. Not as much fun as in the old days, going to Tiajuana (sp?)for the weekend for an upholstery job. Might be something to do next spring, make Roundup while you are here!!

I'm glad you like it Blake.

I have had a lot of people asking me about the seat, so I figured I'd post some pics.
It started as a minivan seat? I don't know what it was but it needed fixin'. There was no way in the world that I would leave those armrests on the seat, but without them it was way too narrow for the car. I cut it apart, re-shaped some stuff, got it mocked up and gave it to tx******** to weld while I started the s***ching. I think the seat fits in the car a lot better now. :)
