Looks like he's either selling some stuff or folks are stealing it. Lots of trim pieces missing. Located in Michigan by chance?

Sho-Nuff is, He told me he got quite a few of the cars missing some stuff, but he is restoring a couple 50's era oldsmobiles of his own, Have you ever been to "Hillards" auto salvage just south of Mt. Plesent ?

  5. HERE IS HOW I SEE IT,
IF NOTHING IS FOR SALE, IT IS NOT A "YARD" BUT A MUSEUM
AT MUSEUMS, YOU CAN LOOK BUT YOU NO CAN TOUCH.
IF I CAN'T TOUCH IT, CAN'T BUY IT, AND CAN ONLY LOOK AT IT,
IT MUST BE A COLLECTION. AND THE COLLECTION OF RUST HE HAS
WILL ONLY GET MORE DESIRABLE EVERYDAY.
YEAH, I GUESS I AM JEALOUS, ANYBODY WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THOSE
CARS IN THEIR OWN "YARD". THANKS!!!!!!!!! BOB:)

I have been to Hillards but that doesn't look like it at all. Hillards has hundreds and hundreds of cars, if not thousands, lots and lots of trees, and I certainly don't remember that many Oldsmobiles there. It's been about 5-6 years since I've been there. Lots of begging on my friends part just to get us on the property. I had to sing "Happy Birthday" to the old man, who I have heard passed away.......and not because of my singing.:D

Brett, is this the "yard" where you told me a couple of years ago that I could find an extra hood if need be?? Does it have any stainless drivers door trim for a '47 Olds convert by any chance??

The guy (Merlin) is about 10 min. away from me (and a pretty good friend ), he will sell some small stuff. but he gets really funny about complete cars or engines and drivetrain parts. I will ask about the door trim but that's a little to old for him.
As far as old man Hillard goes I guess I have to ask, did he die of natural causes or did someone finally kill him like so many people threatned to do ? I drove up there from Detroit ( when I still lived there ) in the 80's with my truck and a trailer, He agreed to sell me the clapped out remains of a 37 chevy coupe for $800. (a LOT of money for the time but I needed some parts off of it and he would only sell the entire car) on the phone. When I pulled up in front of his gate (130 miles away) he met me there with a smile and said " well I got to thinking about it boys,... and I got to have $1,500. for the chevy" I just about went through the truck window at him on the spot. the story's of old man Hillard gouging people are very common.

Yep, your right about that old man. The older guy that took me to Hillards was/is kinda a butthole as well so the two of them got along fine.

I have been searching for 4 years for a 56 Olds 98 left rear 1/4 for a convert or sport coupe. Any chance he would have that among the collection?

Is it a convert 1/4? I would have to do some homework on that, but I have an idea they are a different shape around the wheel opening as well as the length.
