Is there any 48-53 hudson guys that log onto this board? I'm especially interested in 2 door hard-tops & club coupes, I'm hoping to steal some ideas for my car.

I should be in a few years here, would love to get a 50-52 hornet 2dr. running a 54 or 55 6'er with the twin-H setup and speed parts.. of course Uncommon Engineering builds quite an amazing engine for these babies so, we'll see what the future holds for me... it's my dream, to have a hot hudson, most likely made-up like an early 50's stockcar... so, yea, I'd love to see them

.. now playing, Big Tubba Mista... rock out

Here's a Hudson specific site for ya.

    Hudson forum

    I've got a 49 Commodore more door with a later model 308 Twin-H
    w/ Clifford head,headers,electronic ignition,full flow oil filter and 3spOD.
Great runner/driver but the rear axles on borrowed time.Looking to swap
in a later model 53? and later Dana 44.
If your looking to buy, research the Hudson sites and learn what to look for
    with rust issues.

    Here's mine

    and the motor

  5. I got a '48 two door....I'll take some pix and post them.

What are you looking to do? Keep the straight six or swap something else in? I've got a desoto hemi in mine. It goes like stink too. Yorgatron has a rocket 303 in his brothers car. And I believe that they are going bigger with it.

My dad has a 7X copy in his broughm, hopefully we can work on it while I'm home for winter break. I agree with ramblur about the later model axle. There still are parts available for it since it is a dana/****er 44 style rear. I blew up my stock '49 rear and since have gone witha '53 rear end.

    here's mine:

I'm building on a 51 hornet hollywood 2 door hard top, I've got the drive train in it, 350 chevy/th350 transmission, presently my plans are to make it a mild custom, (wide whites/lake pipes/spots/shave hood/shaved decklid/traditional tuck&roll interior)I'd like to do something to the grille,53/54 chevy teeth, or corvette teeth, I was thinking of a 53 chevy grille bar with the park lites changed to bullets, but that's a ways off, I'll post some pix when I get farther along.

thanks for everyones post and pictures

I've got a 2 door hard-top, but I really like the club coupe best of all, however, there was never any strong dealerships in Arkansas so there is hardly any of these cars around here.

  11. Hmmm I LOVE the Hollywood hardtops wanna trade for my 50 Super 8 Club Coupe (super rare car even in the Hudson world)? Just my two cents worth but the 51 grill is great stock, clean up the rest of the car but leave that grill alone it just looks right! Or maybe just clean up the park lights a bit, keep us posted......

why don't you put up some pictures of your super 8? there was a turquoise 50 on e-bay awhile back really looked nice, had already been rodded, I would have traded with him in a new York minute, it got up to $17K+ and he had a $25K reserve on it.
