Anyone recognize this bellhousing? The trans. bolt pattern looks like Ford, but I have no idea what engine it will bolt to. This is the only Crager bellhausing I've ever seen. I got it from a cousin a few years back. He had it in the back of an old delivery van full of parts. I gave him a few dollars for it, brought it home, cleaned it up and hung it on the garage wall. And I've been trying to figure out what it fits, since. Any guesses? The only numbers or identification on it is the number 304 cast on the inside.
I had an FE Ford Cragar bellhousing and REALLY want another one behind the Lincoln motor (same bellhousing pattern). I've got an Ansen now but just not as cool. Can you post some measurements and I'll measure my Ansen and see if they are the same? If they are, I'll make you a NICE offer on it if ya wanna sell it!
I could be dumb, but shouldn't there be a starter bulge on that thing somewhere? I wonder if that fits some sort of extended bellhousing block. Scoob...do you know that's for an FE? I know it isn't for a Nailhead--at least not a 322. I've got a 322 Cragar to Ford on my wall. That bell shown is definately for the Ford trans. -Brad
Looks like a FE with out the starter bulge. Will have a picture up in a few minutes This is a C4 Bell I have for A FE The pattern looks the same. Dawg
I can't remember on the starter. It probably went through webbing on block.I have a picture of the bellhouing in front of me.
To clarify it is 1949-54 Cad, (not 45) and 1949-62 Olds to 49-up Ford trans. Won't fit behind a Cad flathead. And like they said, Wanna sell it? Brock
Here's some pics of Nailhead One's for reference. First three pics are for the later nailhead, last I believe is for a 364.
