WOW thats crazy. And all that in Mesquite, texas. Who would have ever thought it. What you got up your sleeve going to get powder coated?
At least one of those is a Fury. The '56 Fury is really a rare bird, and they're worth some real serious jack if they're put back to stock. You don't see many plain jane '56's done up stock, but a Fury is a whole different ball game. All the '56 Furys came in a two door hardtop only, they had a special 303 engine which was good for 0-60 times around 10 sec and 110 flat out. Doesn't seem that impressive now but in '56 that was mind boggling.
I had a 2 door post when I was a kid ( I told my girlfriend it was the first roadrunner) and I loved it. When I saw these I couldnt belive it. Both 2 door hardtops. 1 even has 2 ant.s on back. 1 has gold spoke hubcaps !!! I liked my 55 plymouth better !!!
Man, I dun't know, in the first picture there was one car, in the second picture there was 2 cars, I think maybe they was repruducing. Maybe you should of drove around the block a few more times, there might have been more. Then you could sell em to some of us HAMBers that might think they were cool. I wouldn't mind having one. I'd even take whichever one was left over. Gene
Hey, Anybody know, did the Aussies ever build a '55 0r '56 Ute Plymouth? Now that'd be cool, a'55 Ute with Fury trim.
I agree. Now, for your viewing pleasure(and cause i'm a pic *****), the beautiful '55 Plymouth rear end...
They are both 1956 Furys. You can tell by the Fury caps, chrome above windows and the gold ship on the hood... very cool. Looks like they just got a paint job. Plymouth Fury guys are obsessed with having multiple Furys for some reason... Kind of odd. HyFire
I've been into Forward Look Mopars all my life, and don't think I've ever seen two '56 Furys in the same picture, ever. They're very rare. And you're right, I know a guy that has three '58 Furys. One with the old 318 poly, the other two with the "first year" 350ci low deck big block - all with dual quads. Cool thing is, you could get them with a three speed manual ****** on the column. *****in.
A great lookin' car. It would compliment my '56 Coronet very nicely. My buddies might say something about having a Forward Look "collection" in my garage and backyard... I wonder what Exner drove as a daily driver??
It's an exclusive club and not many people knew about them when new. The guys who did never seem to forget em and grab all they can find cause you never know if you're ever going to see another. Dodge D-500s are common by comparison. It's sort of like that thing that Metropolitan owners used to get except they seemed to get them in multiples of 4.
They do. Except when being painted. You can see the gas cover is off becuase it is going to be completely wrapped in annodized inserts. Also, if you zoom in on the photo you can see the line where the trim goes, no other Plymouth shares the same trim line. Also check the caps... only other one to use those "turbine" style ones was a Desoto and those had "DeS" stamped in. Hyfire
there is 4 door '56 parked down the street from my parents house. (been sittin' for years) 2 tone yellow and white. always look at it when i get down there...(i always see a carrera panamericana car)
Wow, that is an exact replay of what my mind was thinking while verifying the Fury-ness of those cars. Don't forget the gold hood ornament.
I recall seeing a 55 turned into a p/u in R&C. I think Watson painted it, green metal flake panels,it was beautiful.
