Not trying to hi-jack but, Are Radirs a re-pop wheel from the old days, or are they a relitively new style? They look a little like the old Indy mags that we use to run in high school.
Radir/Raders from the 60's were 2 piece, they had chromed steel hoops with polished, pressed and rivited centers. These looks very cool, but had MAJOR drawbacks, #1.the chrome was bad, it either peeled off in sheets or pitted badly, Even if you find a set of NOS in sealed boxes most likley the chrome is shot. #2. Due to the 2 piece configuration, they leaked, so you had to run tubes, and in some cases they broke. So if you DO have a set of 60's wheels in great shape consider yourself lucky!! When we brought the wheels back in 95' we decided to go with a 1 piece heated treated aluminum design and they are one of the strongest wheels on the market. Pssssst,,, Stay tuned for a re-release of somthing exciting.
I would absolutely kill for a set of 18x8's (fronts) and 20x10's (rears) in 5x4.75 BP for my '58 Chevy truck. I hate the billet wheels out there, but want to run a vintage racey wheel with the "LOOK" thats not a Torque Thrust. HELP, HELP!!!
I second that. 15's wont fit over my disc brakes. Ya'll NEED to make em in 17's at least. THose with a nice 3 inch whitewall would be Awesome. . Some of us would even like ( I might regret sayin this) 20's!! I'll even start the groveling, PLEASE!!!!!!!
I was thinking the exact same thing when I was typing my request. But ya know I FUCKING love the Radir Tri-rib look. And small hoops don't have the look I'm after. Personally I'd like to have a one off set of big roller Radirs so no one else coudl have 'em!!!! But know that if these showed up in big inch's they would sell like hotcakes to all of us guys with Street Trucks that are performance minded, and wanting to keep the traditional yet modern look. Stone me if I'm crazy, and need a reality check. EDIT: I wish for this but would probably have to save for while to afford, but damn I swear it'd be worth it!
15 x 10 and 15 x 8 in the front...I wanted 15's until I found out that I had to grind the damn calipers to clear...
OOH OOH!! BULLET SPOKES ARE COMIN BACK!!! WOOT!! True Astro Supremes's and Radir's should NOT be larger than 15" diameter. IMHO. Those of you that want the bling versions, hit Cragar up for their take on things.
They are? I've been asking Radir about those but no indication from them. I have heard from someone at Radir that the single rib is coming back.
Radirs, one of the few mag/ aluminum wheels you can get away running white walls on. you just gotta love em.
No pics of Radirs but would'nt a set of Hurst wheels be cool! They only made them from 1965-1969. http://webpages.charter.net/jnovelli/hursthistory.htm
Oh, come on! I think we should at least be intitled to a little more than '' Stay Tuned for upcoming previews'' Ya know this is YOUR market right here! Lets see or hear about this NEW release! Call it test market reserching! Thank`s for the schoolin' on the Radirs.
I know these wheels aren't Radirs but I'm pretty sure the rear Tires are plus it's an awsome truck anyway
