As you can tell,I never was much of a Ford guy but things change.I don"t mind a FORD sitting beside my Chevy,THEYSEEM TO GET ALONG! Any help would be appreciated.

If you can either take a digital pic of the VIN tag or post the numbers from it I'll try & decipher the axle code; I think it's listed there.

Watch out for those 2 vehicles cavorting next to each other in the garage, you'll end up with a ******* child! Seems those chevy engines think they belong in a ford . . .  :)

The July issue of Ol Skool Rodz has a 51 Chevy Truck with a Ford 460 in it.

It's not a common thing for sure to see a ford in a chevy. But I've seen a few. Weirdest one was believe it or not - at a tractor pull! Guy was running a 'vette body with a BBF for power.

RE: axle ratio - there should be a second line of numbers on the VIN tag, last number on the second line should be named "AXLE" - here are the codes/ratios listed in the book:
    Code 0 - 4:11
    Code 1 - 3:10
    Code 2 - 3:56
    Code 3 - 3:70
    Code 4 - 3:89
    Code 5 - 2:91
    Code 6 - 2:69

    Hope it helps.
