Hello all, Hope everybody is doing good. I have a folder for my 55' and I have the original sales order & sales contract for my car. The original owners special ordered the car from Beverly Hills Ford and traded in a 48' Chrysler New Yorker 4 door for the car. I also have service records for the car dating back to new. One of the owners even wrote down when the car turned over 100,000 miles the date, time and where it happened. I was just wondering if there is anybody else who has any records like this for their car. Chalupa
Wow it's pretty cool to have the provenance on your car. I had it on my first car, a '60 Ford that I bought from my aunt in '66. She bought it new, traded a '54 in and kept all the records on it. But that car - and the paperwork - are long gone. About the only paperwork I got with my '56 was half a dozen mouse-used girlie mags under the back seat , and a few oil change stickers on the door post.
I have a few of the old registration slips from the 70's and 80's. It's cool because I can see that it spent a great portion of it's life in the south, and I can see how many (or few) miles were put on between certain years. Just turned 66,000 miles last month! I might actually try to track down the oldest known owner and see if I can't find my way back to the first owner; that'd be pretty neat.
I have the original paper work from when it was sold off th elot and the pink slip from 1968. Wiggled ,y way thru dmv and they forgot to take it! lol
I have the reciept , the original owners traded a 34 Chevy for my 55 Customline. The upgraded to the fresh air package(a blower that forced air into the cabin) for $200 bucks... They kept every reciept, I got a box full in the trunk, when I got her...oil changes used to be $2.50. lol
I have registration slips dating back to the 50's on mine, but the coolest thing I have for mine is the police paperwork. It was a sherrif's car when new, and I have the 10-codes cheat sheet that were on the sunvisor, and an old ticket book that was in the glove box.
I got some old photos with my project Vicky, which are included in the build thread. No paperwork, though. I got everything including the hang tags, stickers and instruction booklets with the yellow parts car, however. It is a treasure trove of stuff the dealer used to remove from the cars during "get-ready". There is even a user manual for the rare dealer-installed aftermarket air conditioning system. It's a one-owner car so the pink is still in the original purchaser's name. Would make a very nice car to restore because the provinance is so good!
