Got my 85 Chev 1 Ton truck stripped down to a bare ch***is, well I got all the sheet metal and cab off. Now I can start cleaning it up and ready for the COe Hoo Ray Donn
Dezel, I have no idea I think I will leave everything as it is and worry about ride hight when every thing is on the ch***is. I am building this coe for towing a 5th wheel RV and a goose neck horse trailer so I can't really go the super low rod look. In other words "We'll see" Donn
BTW I will mount the body as low as I can on the ch***is. Engine in front stock location. I dont knw how much interior room I will give up but just 2 of us going to be in it. Donn
Hey Donnda, I'm basically going the same route, for my 49 chevy I'm heading out the door in a couple of mins. to look at a 78-81 chevy 1 ton dually box van for 500.00 Supposed to run & drive, this should make for a simple installation of my cab. The best part of this is the steering appears to be the closest to the COE's original,no major fabricating. the steering box points almost straight up,some body mount's & some other tweeking & I'm rolling,we'll see BCNYA _QUICKTRIP....t
Spent the last two days stripping the COE down to just a cab minus every thing. Must be 10,000 bolts in this thing. Half of them broke half of them had to be cut with a sazall and still another half were torched out. Yeah I know thats too many halfs but it seemed to never end. The cab is all loose, now need to figure out how to get it off the frame. Donn
