They are still out there. This was only a couple miles from my house...In Cali..In the same barn there were old Packards, Chevy coupe, Oakland coupe, 56 chevy, 2? Buick..Here is my latest find.. 1938 Plymouth truck. Original flathead 6. It has been of the road and in a barn since 1966. Today was the first time it has been moved or washed since then. I got it home and pulled the plugs. Motor turns over freely and looks good.. Workin on trying to get it started right now. I will update later..Someone thought they had a hot rod back in the day. STP water decals, Home made split maifold, they ran the dual exhaust through the bumper.. Back outside to breathe some life into her...EVILT

I've never seen one of those! Interesting truck, really good looking. It would be killer to get it back on the road, just as it once was.

  7. What is the scoop on the rest of the cars? Are they all gone? I'd love to know about the Packards, Chevy coupe, etc? Drop me a PM!

Evil, if it still has the tailgate that sez "Plymouth" that alone is worth what you paid for the whole truck...

You mean this one......I have spent the last two hours trying to get her to fire...Couldn't get some of the new stuff I needed. I have no spark..but my headlights and gauges aren't workin either. I think maybe the voltage regulator is no good.. I will be back at it in the morning...The guy with the cars says he wants to sell them.. It took me a long time to get the truck from him..The 32 chevy coupe and the 56 chevy and the buick are not for sale...I have claimed the Oakland..The packards are going to sell but I don't know when...EVILT

Didn't get it runnin tonight..here are the pics of the engine..If you look close in one pic..You can see the custom dual exhaust manifold. They cut and welded the stock exhaust to make it dual....I plan on runnin it just like it is for a while....EVILT

Why can't I find stuff like that? Oh wait...I do! :) Great find! Good luck gettin her running again, and keep us posted!

  23. Get her running and drive her as is for a while to really know and appreciate what you have. Original red? Nice.

    Fuel?
    Air?
    Compression?
    Spark?

Hows the oil? and don't forget about the water distribution tube. Keeping that unclogged and aligned is the key to longevity in the flat 6.

All Plymouth trucks are rare. I didn't realize they made them as early as 38.

Cool great find. Looks like your winter will be busy too

  26. Wow What a great score. I would drive it just like is for sure.

The tune up parts shouldn't be too hard to get, they used those engines in boats for ever and as far as I know tons of parts are avalible through NAPA stores, they are in this area anyway.

I'm guessing I'ts also A rust free California truck as well.

    Oh yeah, Ssssssssssswwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeettttttttttttttttt:D

Cool. I like the double hump action of the front fenders and inner fender , it makes them look extra wide when lowered. Good for you. ;) There are still literally thousands of 30's - 60's cars in garages & barns, and will be for years.

Love that bumper, don't ever change it. Custom, one-of-a-kind pieces are what really give an old vehicle character. My F-1 had a blacksmith made rear bumper and bed side supports. I cleaned it all up real good and painted it to match the truck. I couldn't change it; it's a part of the truck's history.;)
