pinks....wtf????

due to work,,i rarely get to see the show pinks...when i do its usually shitty carz...had a A on last night, that was cool... but my question to you is.... doe's anyone else want to beat the sh&t out of the host??? that guy is a dick.. he's always struttin around and looking all bad like he's some friggin boxer goin to the ring....if i meet him, i think id have to pop him once just for acting that way ...maybe im way off on this one, but when i see the show, he acts that way...anyone?????? thanks....

 

To be honest I think that's half of why I don't watch it...that and everytime it seems some how fishy.

 

Just another reguritated pos show that hopes to cash in on the Jesse James, hotrod movement. The host is a gump, but just about every show about cars has a gump host. It's also a pretty pathetic show, just more reality show bullshit "negotiating" WTF! Anybody ever negotiate at a stoplight?!?

i really really WANT to like the show.... and i generally watch it when i stumble across it on the tube.

i think hes a little strange, but i just write stuff like that off as "self righteous people are idiots"

what really bugs me is the fact that they cant get 2 cars that are in the same league to race each other! that A was racing a freakin mid-eighties granny car...

yea its still racing, but it aint right!

 

if i remember, it was a 66 gto...or around that..not so much a granny car..but why not have 2 old tin cars heads up??? i had high hopes for this show when i heard about it...as i recall, they never even showed a car in the first commercials for the show...now i know why.

 

The A belongs to Tim at Hotrod hardware. The first week he raced a 66 GTO. The second week he told me the car that was going to race grandmoms Olds didnt show so he raced. Ive been buying parts from Tim and he is great to deal with. The host acts like a dick. I usually watch it at night when Im in the shop.

 

I talked to the guy that did the graphics on Tims' car. He said he let both guys keep their cars.

 

I did enjoy seeing that twat on the $18,000 V-Rod get smoked by the $4,000 Suzuki. HD musta enjoyed it too.

 

Tim said he sold the Gto back to the guy and he didnt want the Olds.

 

Great concept. Poor execution.

 

I've only seen the show few times. Waiting a 1/2 hour to see only 3 runs is really dragging things out.

But, what is really curious is that the 'losers' don't seem that upset over loosing a mutli-thousand dollar car. They must be getting some type of offsetting compensation from the shows' producer. It doesn't make sense that they would loose a car just to get their face on the tube for a few minutes.

I haven't seen it yet....but it looks gay just the same.

One of use out there must have a nice camcorder. Why don't we start our own HAMB TV and we could spin off things like a HAMB radio station on XM radio and our own auction site, HAMBay. Then build a chain of restaurants, HAMB Burger. Then nobody would have anything to bitch about Only problem is that the shows would kick so much ass that none of us would get any shop work done. Matter of fact, when do you guys even get a chance to sit behind the TV and watch all these shows?

 

I thought it was gonna be cool, but it takes the whole show to run 3 races? And guys askin' for 20 car lengths?! Who the hell is matching these guys up? Run what you brung, and hope you brung enough!

Yea, I had high hopes for the show too, but was disappointed with the outcome. The host is an asshole, wonder who he paid to get the job, cause he didn't get it on his own merits. Did a lot of street racing in the 60's and 70's, don't remember it being like that. Sure there was negoating, but it was mostly run what you had heads up for bucks one shot winner takes all. Usually for $100 - $300 bucks. That pretty well eliminated all this sandbagging game playing bullshit. Also ran alot at the local dragstrip ET races for money. Strickly on a personal for the fun of the sport basis.

yeah i seen that same show on sunday ,they were showin like 6 episodes back to back,
the a ends up winning 2 cars,the gto and a old chevy celebrity.

i like the show its pretty interesting,but i must agree the host acts like he's some veteran top full driver or a famous boxer.
in reality he only plays the part,u catch him off the camera and he's probly the biggest wimp their is.

i would like to see model traditional hot rods race on that show.

 

i thought the same thing,if i lost any of my cars i would be pissed or upset,these guys act like their only losing a model car or something,seems like its no big deal to them.
i'm sure the channel either sponsors them or theirs something in it for them.

unless their a bunch of rich kids that have their parents buy them their toys.

 

Sorry if im beating a dead horse at this point in the thread but... I hate how they let the guys have totally unfair advantages, like you get 8 car lengths and such, if its a true heads up, all for nothing race, just race it , dont make it some overly dramatic bracket race, and yes the host is super annoying. I think im going to cancel my cable untill spring when all the next 2006 racing season starts.

Okay, my take on this.

The show with the A was cool, just cause I got to see the A run and kick that dudes ass.

The one with the fox body Mustang and the shitty Camaro episode sucked open ass.

Apparentlly, the guy with the camaro didnt show up the first time due to electrical, and then this time he shows up 3 hours late and then askes for a delay so he can change his oil.

The only reason I bring this up is cause after the second run, the Mustang breaks a rocker, and the guys say you have 2 minutes to fix it, so either run it and blow it, or dont run and you lose.

Now that is totall horse shit. What about all the other guys delays, and he didnt get penalized for it(?) plus, when they do agree on a car length, this guy is out there doin a heel/toe ?? they dont have an accurate measure? who knows if hes counting right or taking some feet off? He could add/remove 15 or 20 ft and no one is watching or questioning?

And then with all this money and buget of the show, they cant use the christmas tree lights? That show with the mustang, he almost lost his car cause everyone said he jumped it. So everyone is looking at these shitty camcorder replays to see if he just pre-loaded his car or jumped it. So that is WAY gay.

Racing for money, maybe Id deal with these conditions. But racing for pinks, and possibly losing my car, after driving to the place for hours, tons of money and time into my car, to deal with heel/toe pace off and no launch lights or red light trip light and no professional replay cameras at ground level at the hole shot and at the end is BULLSHIT.

It makes the show seem way too fake. Who would accually race for PINKS under these poor conditions????

And yea, the host does have an "in your face" attitude.

The entire show is fishy. They setup people for drama. Its all bullshit orchistrated for TV.

if he would stop the show boatin shit and letem race, they could run 2 sets of cars instead of 1... might make it better..couldnt be any worse....when i started this thread i had no clue who the guy was. hoping he wasnt some well liked kat id never heard of... apparently, hes not!!!lol....breeder
