I have finished my brakes and now it looks like I have a bad u-joint so I am going to take it to a dr for repair - but i have been thinking about wheels - I wanted to get some push through bullets for the wheels but have been told it won't work without modifing the rim. spider caps cost too much..... does anybody have any tips

thanks skoh73 - i tried to search this forum but somehow i missed your thread - i am sure i searched "push through bullets" - anyhow.... wheelkid / rallyammerica.com was the vendor i initially contacted about getting some bullets but he said they wouldn't work unless i bore out the center hub - I am running stock 53 ford rims up front - I don't want to do that. He sells the spiders too so i might end up doing that if i have to but I will keep looking for a different solution while i squirl away the funds

I bought the spiders and they are a pain in the ****. They look awesome, but its hard to get the inside brackets (the part where the actual spider covers mount to) aligned with the lug nuts. The covers have tiny screws that you mount the covers with. They wont match unless you get the brackets straight. I finally got them too fit but I spent a couple of hours getting it done. Maybe I just had bad luck.

Yea +1 on the self tappers. I see you have felt my pain. I actually drilled out the holes a wee bit on the covers. They were just slightly off from the brackets. I know you can't put the lug nuts on with an impact.
