Greeting's All I just recently 6-13-10 bought a 49 chevy COE off ebay,1K I'm in the Dallas area & only had to travel 100 miles to cleburn Tx. to pick it up.Sweet! to view the pics.ebay item # 320547967380 I was alittle disapointed in the truck when I got there as both front fenders were dented, the ad didn't say anything about the damage & it has rust in both cab corners, not bad, but I was lead to believe it was only one, & some dents on the cab,all easy fixable. I got the guy to take 900.00 because of the untold damage. All in all I really dig my {NEW TRUCK}. Underneath it's all most rust free,& the interior & other trim garnish molding etc.are complete & Nice! If you look at the pics you'll see it's a basket case, but pretty complete. What's your oppinion,a deal ? fair ? or ? I'm happy with it,so it's cool, just wanted to hear your oppinion. Also, Donnda I'm really digging the green chevy or GMC COE that's used as an avatar for the group. Where can I see more pics of this beauty?I thought I'd seen it before but can't find it, one of the most beautiful COE's I've seen ! I want one! BCNYA _QUICKTRIP....t
Quicktrip, You know I don't know where Metaltwister got it. I think he stole it off the internet some wheres. He is really the founder of this social group. I took it over cause he didn't have time to moderate it. Maybe he'll jump in here and tell you? How about some pictures of the COE when you get some time? Donn
I just looked at the E-Bay listing on this truck and I think you got a good deal at $900 . The rust out in the cab corners is the first place these trucks rust. It would be the exception not to have rust there. All in all it looks like a real solid truck. Donn
Yeah Donn I hope he, metaltwister will jump in, I really like the green truck! I thought I did good considering a complete original COE is only being bid up to 1300-1500 depending on year & make & being they are big bulky & costly to move, my trip took 1 hour 45 mins.each way & only 40.00 gas total, I got off real easy. I'm pretty stoked on getting this 49 going,I'm waiting to get my 47 Ford COE going later, as in my mind the 49 chevy is alot easier to build. It really is a nice truck,no real abuse inside or out. I'll try & get some pics posted I went to look at the box van,but no one answerd the door, so it's tomorrow before I can try again. I measured it from center of wheel to center of wheel, about 12 ft. This 1 ton van will have the correct column I want, motor ****** complete running ch***is etc etc to get this going quick. I have a friend that has a set of alcoa dually rims & another friend has traded me an International stepside bed so I'm real close to having everything to get it going. BCNYA _QUICKTRIP....t
