Hello all, I'm a southern California native...San Diego to be exact. I've had a thing for cars for as long as I can remember. My first car in high school was a 66 ghia that I played with for a few years. Sold the ghia to buy a VW bus also know as a Type 2. I have owned about 5 buses since then from the ugliest to the pretty rare. From then on I was hooked....I was a "VW guy" for about 12 years until I bought my first old American truck. Not sure why I changed I guess I just like cars. About a year and half ago I found my current project. 1947 Ford COE w/ Marmon-Herrington all wheel drive. The previous owner pulled the flatty out and put in an SBC. The truck runs and drives great..(except for some wiring issues)....really slow but fun none the less. I know close to nothing when it comes to the early American cars but what I do know is there is a lot of good sites with great people running and visiting the sites sharing tons of valuable information...much like this one.... thanks for allowing me to be apart of this really cool site. Aaron
Hey there '47 Ford COE, Do you have any photo's you can share? I really dig COE's been wanting to buy one for the last couple of years. Here is a shot of one I saw today, a little different than your's but very cool. CBB
lots a tools...I love it but I don't trust antbody to work on my cars. 250 for an oil change at the dealer......abot 50 bucks at home and i know it's done right. Thanks Aaron
Crazy backyard builder, These are by far the cools trucks I have ever seen...I have seen this one also, Goodguys in del mar and also in pamono...this one is very cool. I have tried to post pics but I get an error...I'll try and figure it out and post some cool pics...Thanks Aaron
Aaron, That's cool, looks pretty complete. I have heard of that 4 wheel drive set up in other 40's vehicles, was it something they pit more in trucks? CBB
His cabover is badass...I've taken a load of pics of his truck.....the work on the bed is killer...and the mid engine mount...way cool.
