I don't know if this has come up before, but posted it anyway.

I came across this thing on the net today. There are a few things I like on it, but I think the builder went a little too far.

I like how it says on the website that the doors are power operated, yet in all the photos the door is held up by a stick.

There's a lot of work in that car. It's not exactly my style, but I think that the application of a little "taste" would help it greatly.

If it were mine (you know, like if it were given to me by a well-meaning relative and I couldn't just turn around and sell it) I'd repaint it a deep midnight blue and ditch the whitewalls...I'd keep the Cragars, though.

Presto change-o! A whole new look.

The proportions are pretty good as radical customs go, I like all the mods made to the car except the gull-wing doors and it looks to be very driveable. Just a little too much unnecessary "bling" for me.

But as a mean "street fighter" look custom I think it would be killer!

    :)

    Hey Scary, right at the bottom of the page they added this disclaimer;

"P.S.: The Gull Wing Doors are hydraulic, and do stay open themselves.
We have it supported only for showing safely"

    The car is definately Different.

I think its okay but, I don't like the door or the grille. It does have one of those feels of a concept that maybe they would have made as a future look at the 80's.

If you look at the last picture with the gull door open , look to see in the front where the door has been rubbing the door sill plate and the door padding is broken away from the door . That means that door is off center for sure .
I think is way too much work for the results but that's kustom cars . The color is OK but what the hell were they thinking about the color on the frame and front end !
As for the car , I don't like it . Can't really tell what is was to start with ! Looks like a PIMP car from the interior . Those cragers with WWW look out of place too .
One good thing , at least the didn't put that awful looking 20" rims with a 2" tire on them ! I think those kind of tires and rim combo's **** !
Anyway the engine bay did look nice .

That's about as '53 Ford as a NASCAR COT is a stock production vehicle! And - I betcha it's still got a nice flattie in there. Yeah, right. Apparently it appeals to someone, just not me.

Sorry, but I guess I should support the old saying ". . . if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. . ."

well i dont like it . lots of time and work invested . wheres the door seals? the carpet looks dirty against seat color. would you not have changed the oldsmobile steering wheel so something else . that is if its a full custom why not have put a wheel on it . i could go on but i cant , or you dont want me to.

I wouldn't give $4,000 for it and they want $40,000 for that "POS" !

OH well each to their own I guess .
Well I live on the East Coast and I can tell you right now , that **** isn't what we all like at all either !
Still reminds me of some of the crazy , furry stuff that came out in the 1970's !

    You guys are brutal!

When you compare this car to all the really ugly customs that came out of the '60s and '70s, this one is really quite good.

    Perspective.

No. It's somewhat overpriced, even in today's "recovering" economy. (Now there's a real haha for 'ya!) But I tend to be a very careful buyer of just about everything since I've never had any throw-away money...that I can remember.

But... There are many people in this world who can afford $40K for a night on the town, to whom this little trinket might be just the ticket for a bit of high profile fun.

No, it's not going to ever be in my carport, but I'll bet it sells fairly quickly. I just hope the new owner has better taste than the current owner and removes the gaudy stuff that really detracts from the car's essentially well-balanced styling (in my most humble opinion...).

BACK TO THE FUTURE! No really if you think about customizing cars of the past look at what barris, ayalla brothers did. I think that you have to push the ****ons of customizing sometimes!
