Hey guys. I'm new to the group and the forum. Little background on me. I grew up in a hot rod family and have been around them my entire life. I picked up the 55 last may and have been working on it since. However the block is cracked and am looking for a another y block. I would like a 292 or 312, but will take what I can find.
Welcome to the group, sorry I can't help you out with your Y block needs. I'm sure that someone here may be able to help your or refer you to someone to help you. The guys here are unbelievable when it comes to helping out with all situations.
Welcome aboard! You have wandered upon the BEST group on the HAMB! Tons of great advice from knowledgeable, friendly folks.
Welcome to the group! pm skoh73 to put you on the members map in case someone close has that Y-block.
Hi Fordtt, don't discount a 272 if you find one, same stroke as a 292 and can be bored to a 292. Sonic test first tho to insure there wasn't any core shifting. Check out the Y-Block group also; http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?groupid=159
Finally some close to me!!! If a 5 hour drive is close..... Welcome to the best bunch of guys and gal that you may never meet! There are great folks on here with great advice....... some of the folks are pure genius!!!!! When is this hotrodorama and where?... I might be able to be there too.

Howdy man, Im a new guy too. I have a 272 complete from pan to intake but I live in San Antonio. I'm pulling it out of my 55 to put in a new motor. If you are interested let me know but its a loooooong haul.
Welcome. Check out the HAMB Relays for getting the motor moved from Texas to wherever you are. Might take a while to hook up but might be worth the wait. HAMB has lots of benefits that few know about. This is one of them. Check it out.
A little update guys. I found a rebuilt 292 never installed still on the pallet. I'm going to pick it up tomorrow, and hopefully have it driving down the road in a couple weeks.
